KODAK_SAFETY
The Swiss artist Batia Suter lives in Amsterdam. She received the Grand Prix of Design 2025 from the Swiss Federal Office of Culture. In her work, she questions the effect of existing photographic images. Her work is installed on the boarded-up windows of the Wildstrubel hotel ruins and consists of a selection of tourism photographs from the Brügger Archive of the Swiss Alpine Museum ALPS. In her «KODAK_SAFETY» photo installation, the artist «stacks» or places several color photographs on top of each other. According to Suter, this creates «fantastic worlds and color formations in which the musty and nostalgic camp feeling disappears completely and gives way to a surreal and labyrinthine humor».
