Christophe Burgess
Christophe Burgess
Bell
The artist lives in Valais and works in an interdisciplinary manner, combining theatrical and sculptural elements. He sheds light on the social, ecological and spiritual concerns of the people living in the Alps and creates visions of the future life of the Alpine population. Among other things, he has developed the «Carillon Sauvage», a carillon installation inspired by the traditional playing of the Valais carillonneurs. The electronic instrument faithfully simulates the carillon of the Martigny bell tower. In his work «Bell» Burgess has installed a historic bell from Fully (VS) at the Altelshütte. Also, he presented a sound installation at the opening of the exhibition on July 6.
