Sabina Lang and Daniel Baumann live and work in Burgdorf. They create sculptural works and interventions in public spaces with stimulating geometric forms. In doing so, they repeatedly question our longing for beauty in a humorous way. Their new work bears the simple title «up #8.» The rectangular perfect stele corner measures 3 x 3 x 3.5 meters and is attached to a sloping rock face at Lämmerendalu: a daring game with gravity that appears like a materialized experimental thought. The brilliant white and straight smooth forms create a striking contrast to the surrounding furrowed, random architecture of the rocky landscape. At the same time, interesting shadow plays and references to the surroundings are created: to the white clouds, the bright sun, and the wind blowing through the openings of the portal construction.
