Maëlle Cornut
Lämmergeier / Bartgeier
The Valais artist Maëlle Cornut combines art and scientific research. Her work revolves around the «Lämmergeier» (bearded vulture), the Gypaetus barbatus. This rare bird is native to the Gemmi region and lives in the spectacular rocky landscape near the aerial cable car Gemmibahn. The artist is realizing an intervention at the two cable cars Gemmi and Sunnbüel, where silhouettes of bearded vultures are attached to the cabins. She also illuminates the mythological stories of the «bird of luck» in a video work.
