The Gemmi Pass, which lies at around 2,300 metres between Kandersteg and Leukerbad, connects the Bernese Oberland with Valais. It is a popular destination for hikers and day-trippers, with easy access via the Sunnbüel cable car from Kandersteg or the Gemmi Bahnen from Leukerbad.

We recommend travelling by public transport.

With the SBB Hike’n’Rail ticket, you can enjoy discounts of up to 50% on return journeys between Kandersteg and Sunnbüel, or on one-way journeys between Kandersteg and Sunnbüel or Gemmipass and Leukerbad.
